ZanySignals is the pioneering Colombian company in designing and building analog and digital audio systems for professional music production focused on modular audio synthesis, governed by the Eurorack measurement standard. It fosters cultural spaces through pedagogy to provide the Colombian audience with new musical experiences. ZanySignals was founded in 2019 with a conference at the Pereira Art Museum, which served as validation for the business idea. ZanySignals (a name derived from the Zany oscillators) is a company that aims to revolutionize the Colombian synthesizer market like no other, with the goal of teaching people how to build Eurorack modules and the dream of introducing the first Colombian modular synthesis rack to the market.
In 2020, a workshop called ARMA SYNTH was initiated, involving 5 students. Three months later, a second version of ARMA SYNTH was conducted virtually, with 18 students from different parts of the country. This further affirmed the company's concept.
From there, the idea of starting the construction of synthesizers emerged, and later they were promoted through ZanySignals' social media channels. All of this received a positive response from the Colombian artistic community, which provided the opportunity to enhance the product and release a complete line of Eurorack modules. These modules matured throughout 2020, and by March 2021, the first 5 ZanySignals modules covering different stages of signal processing were completed.
Following this, in the subsequent months, the design of 7 more modules began to complement the line and create a modular system for performance use. By the end of 2021, due to the favorable consumer response and the use of the modules, it became evident that certain improvements needed to be made to the product in accordance with the needs of professional audio production. Work began on a new line of professional audio named the "Wave Line," where the design and functionality of each module were enhanced. By March 2022, all designs and tests for the product were finalized. Minimalism served as the main foundation to improve our front panels and promote their user-friendliness within the producer's workflow. The Wave Line comprises 14 modules with the standard Eurorack measurement, and thanks to this new line, the company began working on products such as cases, cables, merchandise, and other accessories.
